Industry Sector, Drive Technologies Division, Large Drive (LD) signed a contract for supplying main facilities and long term service for Sin Uljin Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 & 2 with Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd., (DHIC) on July 28 in the headquarters of nuclear power plant division of DHIC in Changwon, with presences of Josef Meilinger, President & CEO, MinSu Un, Vice President of Industry Automation and Drive Technologies Division and the purchasing department of DHIC.
With a total contract amount of approximately above KRW 30 billion, Siemens supplies eight RCP motor for 5 years as well as a long term maintenance service for Sin Uljin nuclear power plant unit 1 & 2. The commercial operations are planned in 2016. This contract ignites a powerful start that the one of the most core technology, nuclear power plant cooling pump would be localized with DHIC and nuclear power plant researchers’ collaboration and is significantly known as the first step for constructing the nuclear power plant project through friendly partnership between two companies in both Korean and International market.
