Seoul (SLS) (Josef Meilinger, President and CEO, www.siemens.co.kr) announced today that it appointed Dr. Sander Herden as Vice President and Head of Building Technologies, Siemens Ltd. Seoul. Dr. Herden held the position of Vice President and Global Head of Business Administration, Siemens Building Technologies, Siemens Switzerland prior to his new post.
Dr. Herden will be in charge of delivering the best integrated building automation solutions to local customers with Siemens Building Technologies key products such as building automation controls (BAU), control products and systems (CPS), security solutions (SES), and fire alarm and safety solutions and products (FS).
In 1999, Dr. Herden joined Siemens ElectroCom GmbH & Co. (SEC) in Germany after building a career at DaimlerChrysler Mercedes-Benz in sales and Marketing in Hong Kong and China. Afterwards, he occupied key positions such as manager of Siemens Building Technologies Strategy and M&A at Siemens AG and Siemens Switzerland, vice president of business development, and global head of business administration, accumulating specialized knowledge and management know-how in the building automation sector.
Meanwhile, Siemens Building Technologies acquired Shinhwa Electronics Ltd. and SH Engineering Ltd. in May 2008 and spurred integration since then. Siemens Shinhwa Co., Ltd was officially established on October 1, 2008. Siemens plans to officially integrate Siemens Shinhwa Co., Ltd into Siemens Building Technologies on October 1, 2009. Accordingly, Siemens will reinforce its position as the best integrated building automation company in Korea, fully equipped with building automation, CPS and security solutions as well as fire alarm and safety solutions.
