Siemens Ltd. Seoul participated in the 'Digital Business Forum 2017' hosted by Korea Economic Daily and AT Kearney held at the Grand Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul on June 22. At the forum, in-depth discussions were held regarding the change of industrial landscape in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution and speakers shared their views on the related fields and specific strategies for artificial intelligence, virtual reality technology, digital innovation and more. Dr. Roland Busch, CTO and Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG attended to the forum and gave a keynote speech stressing that “Digitalization is no longer a matter of choice”, and "About 40% of Korea's GDP comes from the industrial sector, which is high in labor costs and is becoming aging like Germany”. He also further commented that "By optimizing the autonomous public transport system, smart buildings, and smart grids that use renewable energy using MindSphere in Seoul, 70% of the population will use public transportation in 2030 and their CO2 emissions will be reduced by 40%". During the afternoon session, Dr. Florian Beil, Head of Technical Sales, Siemens AG, introduced ' MindSphere', cloud-based open IoT platform from Siemens. Furthermore, a Siemens booth was installed at the venue showcasing Siemens' digital solutions which attracted the participants.
