A global powerhouse in electrical engineering and electronics, with innovative environmental caring technology and sound business management, Siemens Ltd. Seoul (JongKap Kim, Chairman & CEO, www.siemens.co.kr) announced that it held ‘SLS Family Day’ on April 21 at Hwaseong Sports Complex. The event is designed to bring together Siemens staff and their families across the nation to build friendship. This year, about 2,700 SLS employees and their families as well as 50 children and their family members of its ‘Ai SaRang KiKeum’ fund since 2007 participated in the event.
The 2012 Family Day featured a range of programs for employees’ families. Participants had a chance to make a cup on a pottery wheel. In addition, field day activities included Ssireum (traditional Korean wrestling) for women, a hurdle relay race, a three-legged race, an air ball rolling relay race and tug-of-war, which appealed to men and women of all ages. Entertainers dressed as a Pierrot and Daddy Long Legs cruised around the event venue to amuse children. A dance contest for SLS employees and a special performance by the nation’s popular singers added to the festive mood of the event.
JongKap Kim, Chairman and CEO of Siemens Ltd. Seoul said “Siemens is committed to valuing our employees and making itself the best place to work in order to achieve sustainable growth” and added “The SLS Family Day was a good opportunity for not only employees and their families but also children of ‘Ai SaRang KiKeum’ fund to enjoy themselves and build a sense of community.”
Meanwhile, SLS has run ‘Caring Hands - Ai SaRang KiKeum’ fund since 2007, a matching grant program that requires the company to donate the same amount of money donated by employees. Under this program, the company provides a KRW 1.2 million scholarship per student for 60 elementary school students. Siemens invited these children to this event to enjoy together.
